FIVE DECADES OF MUSIC
Every track in the Ron Baumtrog catalog carries decades of real-world musicianship — from classical training and vinyl-era rock stages to modern broadcast-ready masters. This isn't a catalog assembled overnight. It was forged across five decades of writing, performing, recording, and refining.
THE JOURNEY
1960s — Classical Roots Meet the British Invasion
Ron's musical journey began in his early teens with classical piano lessons. When the mid-1960s British Invasion hit, he was captivated by the harmonies and songwriting of artists like the Beatles. That inspiration led him to buy his first Hammond organ and form the rock band Amish with local neighborhood musicians.
1970s — Live Stages and a Recording Contract
For five years, Amish toured the Southern Ontario circuit — high school dances, university pub nights, and summer beach venues. Their original songwriting landed them a recording contract with Sussex Records in Detroit, where they recorded their album in the same studio and era where Bill Withers cut his timeless hit "Lean On Me."
1980s — Deepening the Craft
Ron deepened his technical skills by completing an intensive three-year piano major program at the University of Western Ontario. Though he later stepped away from the road to run a family business, his passion for creation never stopped — he dedicated his time to assisting a community church choir director with rehearsals and performance conducting.
1990s–2010s — The Digital Studio Era
In the 1990s, Ron jumped into digital music production, mastering Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), recording, and remastering in his own home studio. Over the decades, he kept pace with advancing studio technology, building a deep catalog of versatile, original compositions.
Today — Purpose-Built for Sync
Today, Ron focuses his lifelong craftsmanship entirely on the synchronization licensing market. Blending raw, authentic keyboard arrangements and roots-driven instrumentation — from gritty Texas Blues grooves to cinematic Celtic atmospheres — his music is purpose-built for commercial television, film, and media placements.
WHY IT MATTERS FOR SYNC
Music supervisors need tracks with authentic character — not generic production-line loops. Every composition in this catalog was written, arranged, performed, and produced by a single artist with over fifty years of real musical experience. That means 100% original compositions, pre-cleared lineage, and the kind of depth that only comes from a lifetime behind the keys.
